Michael Schupbach is a professional designer, fabricator, art director, project manager, and educator.
He is a co-founder of Puppet Kitchen Productions, a full service puppet design studio in Manhattan and alumnus of Jim Henson’s Muppet Workshop.
He specializes in character based 2D and 3D design, 3D printing, fabrication, art direction, project management, and creating custom educational content.
Mr. Schupbach has constructed puppets for stage productions of Little Shop of Horrors on Broadway, Avenue Q, The Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park.
Theatrical design credits include: national tours of The Little Prince, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and 9 to 5 as well as the international tours of Imaginocean and The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show.
His screen credits include: Sesame Street, Johnny and the Sprites and Bear in the Big Blue House, Imagine Dragons' Music Video Radioactive, IFC's Greg the Bunny, Noggin’s Play with Me Sesame.
Additional clients include: Walt Disney Theme Parks, Nickelodeon, Broad City, Collegehumor.com, Scholastic, The Public Theater, Cornell College, Folkmanis Puppets, Hyperactive Content, The New Victory Theater
