Bio:
Michael Schupbach is an art director, concept artist, character designer, creative project manager, and educator. Michael has been working in entertainment for over 20 years now with hundreds of different IP’s and styles under his belt.
He is a co-founder of Puppet Kitchen Productions, a full-service puppet design studio, and an alumnus of Jim Henson’s Muppet Workshop.
He specializes in character-based 2D and 3D design, 3D printing, fabrication, art direction, project management, and creating custom educational content.
Note: if you are new here, the majority of Michael’s work since 2017 has been at Animax Designs where he currently serves as an art director and subject matter expert. His work at Animax is covered by an NDA with minor exceptions. So aside from a select few projects that can be discussed publically, please know the majority of the content on this site is from prior to that period.

Education:
having “cut his teeth” as a Middle School Art Teacher Michael has learned the right approach to a lesson is the adapt it to the experience level and emotional needs of the student. From there Michael has gone on to teach at a collegiate level, run the Puppet Kitchen’s Workshop program, and teach nationally and internationally.
